Buildable Hours: Habitat for Humanity of Greater Sacramento

Kershaw Talley Barlow pledges $5 (up to $500) for every new Facebook follower it gains through the month of July to support Habitat for Humanity of Greater Sacramento.

Sacramento, CA – During the month of July, the law firm of Kershaw Talley Barlow is turning its billable hours into buildable hours. For each new fan who “likes” our Facebook page, we will donate $5 up to $500 to Habitat for Humanity of Greater Sacramento.

Habitat for Humanity is a global, non-profit 501(c) (3) housing organization. Habitat believes that everyone deserves a safe, decent place to call home, and partners with the local community to revitalize neighborhoods and build, renovate, and repair homes for low-income families. Habitat considers themselves, “an empowerment program, not an entitlement program, giving people a hand-up not a handout” as evidenced by the requirement that new homeowners put in 500 hours of sweat equity (time building their home) and take on a zero percent interest, 30 year mortgage to purchase their home.

We are excited to dedicate our Facebook bimonthly to support local charities. Our goal is turning social media into a positive social impact. This month, our organization of choice is Habitat for Humanity of Greater Sacramento in honor of 30 years building hope in our community.

Bill Kershaw, of Kershaw Talley Barlow, states, “Habitat for Humanity is a great organization with a proven track record of instilling a sense of pride in our community and an understanding of how lucky we are to have a roof over our heads. Habitat’s efforts transform houses into homes for deserving families. Thank you Sacramento Habitat for your incredible work.”
